Daniel Neep

Professor Daniel Neep is Assistant Professor in Arab politics at the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies, Georgetown University in America. He was previously a lecturer at the University of Exeter and Research Director (Syria) at the Council for British Research in the Levant.

In 2014 he published a scholarly book, Occupying Syria under the French Mandate.

In connection with his first book for a general audience, a history of Syria since the last days of the Ottoman Empire that is to be published by Penguin Press, he was awarded a prestigious 12-month fellowship from the Public Scholar Program of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
